MMC also provides training and development at various levels for the staff of TM and its subsidiaries.? The college conducted 2,686 courses for over 52,138 trainees in year 2005, a 26 per cent increase in trainee attendance, and achieved a 13 per cent increase in the number of courses conducted over the preceding year. This ensures a growing pool of technologically savvy and skilled workers.
MMC also manages the training and development needs of top and senior management of TM via its Management and Leadership Institute (MLI), which is divided into two units, vis-a-vis the Leadership Centre and Assessment Centre.
Basically, the Assessment Centre conducts Psychometric assessments for the selected group of people, submitted by the Group Human Resource Management of TM. The Leadership Centre will then design and propose the required training programmes based on the Assessment reports and the skills and competency gaps.
The courses conducted under the Leadership Centre are among others, Top Management Programme, Senior Management Development Programme, Management Leadership Development Programme and Management Trainee Programme.
In pressing forward MMC has enhanced its training modules by providing an E-Learning mode used in most of its training courses. In addition, MMC offers the use of its extensive and well-equipped physical facilities for a fee to the public. Besides expanding its businesses, MMC also has varied its programmes by doing community and welfare activities such as organising educational and learning camps for school children and welfare services for orphanage homes.
Staking its claim on the nation's education sector, MMC held its 10th Convocation on December 17 and 18, 2005, which saw 500 graduates receiving their diplomas from the six programmes offered at MMC. This is the highest number ever recorded by the Education wing since its inception.
Education plays a tremendous role in providing TM its future knowledge workforce. With a vision to eventually be a 'University College', MMC is committed to providing students with exceptional academic excellence and providing valuable experiential learning within the TM environment.
