Malaysian Society for Training and Development (MSTD)
 
The Organisation
MSTD is a non-profit, non-governmental voluntary organization, registered under the Societies Act. The basic objectives of the society are to provide a channel for networking among HRD practitioners and also to create a vehicle to make representations and promote professionalism among its members.

On 24th September 1993, a Protem Committee was formed to spearhead the formation of the Society under the Chairmanship of En Ismail b. Nordin, previously the General Manager of Telekom Training College. The committee formulated the constitution and attended to the preliminary formalities to have the Society registered.

The Inaugural General Meeting of the Society of Training and Development was held on 6th May 1995 to elect the First Executive Council. The meeting was attended by nearly 250 members.

The MSTD’s activities are based on the following objectives stipulated in the Constitution:-

To provide a common platform for Training and Development

  • To contribute towards the betterment of the National Training and Development/Human Resource Development policies. Training and Development / Human Resource Development policies.

  • To promote training and development / human resource development through training and non-training activities and interventions and encourage the use of IT in all aspect of Human Resource Development.

  • To provide Training and Development / Human Resource Development through learning activities, seminars, conferences, conventions and exhibitions at National, Regional and International levels.

  • To publish a newsletter, journals and other relevant materials on the development and advancement of Training and Development / Human Resource Development. To confer an Annual Award of Excellence in Training and Development / Human Resource Development.

  • To publish a directory on “Who’s Who” in the Malaysian field of Training and Development / Human Resource Development.

  • To publish the User-Guides on Training and Development / Human Resource Development.

  • To be the prime mover in the field of R&D / HRD in the Asean Region and the Pacific Rim.
